Thursday (tonight) This event is getting rave reviews: SHADES: A monthly POC, LGBTQ and ally happy hour celebrating diversity by bringing community together through the best R&B, Old School HipHop and Chilled-Out-Disco-Lounge! SHADES is a driving force with our involvement in hosting benefit fundraising for our allies and other POC LGBTQ nonprofit organizations. 6pm-10pm, Bad Habit Room, 5433 N Michigan.Hip Hop Heaven. Since the late 60's, Darcelle XV Showplace has been a staple on the national scene of top notch female impersonation, highlighting a wide range of entertainers. The longest running show of its kind in the country, Darcelle XV presents the return of Tuesday night's Catch a Rising Star. During the 80s, the show began with Champagne leading the way, in the 90's followed up by Sister Paula, and now in 2015 will be hosted the dynamic duo of long time Darcelle XV & Company cast members Poison WatersÂ and Kourtni Capree Duv! Away from the busy weekend, Catch a Rising Star gives new performers the opportunity to work in a professional setting, and seasoned performers the opportunity to try out new material.
